POLICIES AND REQUIREMENTS

At Howliday Inn, we want every pup and their people to feel safe, happy, and cared for.  To keep things running smoothly, please review our policies below.

Health and Vaccinations

  • All dogs must be current on rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccinations.  Current veterinary records must be provided when booking.
  • Dogs must be free of fleas, ticks, and contagious illnesses.
  • Please let us know of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs.

Behavior and Safety

  • Dogs must be friendly and non-aggressive toward people and other dogs.
  • We cannot accept dogs with a history of biting or with severe behavioral issues.
  • All dogs must arrive and leave on a leash for safety.
  • All dogs must wear a halter during boarding.  Your dog(s) may use your halter or we will provide one.
  • Life vests are mandatory for swim time.  We can provide life vests or you may bring your own.

Boarding and Daycare Rules

  • Owners must provide their dog's food, medications, and any special items like treats, toys, blankets, etc.
  • Food must be pre-packaged in disposable baggies or containers and labeled with dog's name, or delivered to us in bulk with detailed feeding instructions.
  • Dogs will sleep in their reserved indoor air conditioned bedroom suite - no kennels, cages, or concrete.
  • Drop-off and pick-up are available between 7am and 6pm.  We understand that delays in travel can easily happen, and we will work with you if your timing needs change.  Since we live on-site, we can be quite flexible with drop-off and pick-up.  Pick-up from overnight boarding is generally required by 2pm to prepare the suite for new occupants.  If you are delayed and cannot pick up on the day specified, additional charges may apply.

Payments and Cancellations

  • Owners are charged a full day rate the day of check-in regardless of drop-off time.
  • To accommodate as many clients as possible for busy holidays, a three-night minimum stay is required for all major holiday reservations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve/Day, Easter, Fourth of July).
  • A non-refundable deposit is required at the time of reservation for all major holiday reservations.
  • If you must cancel your reservation, please give us as much notice as possible so that we may contact clients on our waiting list.  Last-minute cancellations or repeated cancellations will result in reservations no longer being taken.

Emergencies

  • If your dog requires veterinary care, we will contact you immediately.
  • In urgent cases, we will take your dog to your preferred vet, our on-call mobile vet, or the nearest emergency vet clinic.
  • All medical costs are the responsibility of the owner.

Liability

  • While we take every precaution to keep your dog safe, owners must sign a waiver acknowledging that pets are boarded at their own risk.  We are not liable for illnesses, injuries, or unexpected incidents outside our reasonable control.
